1961 Sheraton sighting

Hey all, Just thought I would report on something I just came across online. I haven't been searching the web for guitars as much as I used to, so I'm not sure how long this one has been up for sale. It's a relatively obscure (though a veteran) dealer that has it, so I figured that it was less likel...

'62 cherry Sheraton on Reverb.com

Just came across this today. Not cheap, but these are pretty rare (I've only seen a couple of others from this year with these features). The serial number is close to mine.

Re: How can we spread the word on our forum?

I forget if I already mentioned it to AV, but there's a natural connection with the Epiphone portion of the Gibson forums. http://forum.gibson.com/index.php?/forum/47-epiphone/ When they set that board up, they provided everything for Epiphone discussion except for vintage. I've seen occasional thre...

Re: Robben Ford

I agree, RAB. I first heard him on the Charles Ford Band LP on Arhoolie in the early 70's (my brother hipped me to that). Have you ever seen this? Along with one other tune from this show on Youtube, it's the only footage I've ever found of Robben from those early years with the Super 400: https://w...

Re: Robben Ford

Hey RAB, did you know Robben (or play with him)? He's really a great guy. I saw him perform several times in the 70's and 80's, but only met him once. Around 1985, I had answered a newspaper classified ad about a guitar for sale, and I got talking to the seller, telling him that I was looking for a ...

Re: Let's hear your music!

Nice band there, RAB! I'm envious over here, not only that you're having fun with a bunch of good musicians, but the material you guys play. Your guitar work is very tasty. Much respect. Really nice saxophone work too (I like her tone, and the way she phrases). Oh, and of course I love those red Gi...

Robben Ford

Robben has used a lot of guitars over the years, including a '60's Riviera that he started using a few years ago.

Re: Vintage Gibson archtops (misc)

Thanks. I wish I'd had some photography skills (and something better than a Polaroid instant camera) back in those years. So many guitars I miss now, and never even took pictures of...

Reference site (guitarhq.com)

It kind of drives me nuts these days how a lot of people post erroneous info in forums (in general that is, not here) that they got from bad sources like blue books or unreliable websites like "the guitar dater project" (which seems to provide incorrect data almost every time somebody ment...
