Re: Some photos of a '64 blonde Sheraton

Maybe a little too much wear for my liking, but definitely oozing "mojo". 8-) I've seen that one before (online), but can't remember who had it at the time. This was several years ago. I went to my Sheraton thread on The Gear Page to look for it, but it must have been one of member Jura's ...

Re: Phil X playing a 1960 Emperor

Nice. Always a treat to see one of these rare thinline Emps. I've seen them come up for sale a few times over the years. I would have tried one by now... if I was rich. Anyway, closest thing I've seen to this design concept was a custom thinline Super 400 that Gibson built several years ago. Other t...

Re: Epiphone shipping dates

Thanks RAB. I've gotten help from Jon before on a couple of my Gibsons, but never thought to ask him anything about the Sheraton. I'm on it now...

Re: Mini-humbucker output values

Thanks RAB. I've never been very technical about this stuff, and don't own a meter. I have a friend who does, though, so I may ask him next time I'm over at his place with my Sheraton. You've got me a little curious to compare now. 8-)

Re: Epi shipping totals

Yes, my understanding is that prior to 1967, the E-212T and TV models included both sunburst and cherry together in the shipping totals. So my '62 Sheraton was among the 18 cherry and sunburst TV's shipped that year. I'm pretty sure that the cherry finish was first listed in the '62 catalog: http://...

Re: Man, do I love this guitar...

Sweet. That's a really individual and attractive design, and I have zero doubt that they sound great! If I was in the market for another solidbody, one of those would rank high on my list.

Re: Alex Schultz

Not sure on the amp(s) he uses. I know he travels a lot (plays all over europe) now, and may not always be using his own amp. Alex participates regularly in this thread at "The Gear Page" forum: http://www.thegearpage.net/board/index.php?threads/west-coast-blues-thread-version-19.1460772/p...

Alex Schultz

Great blues and soul player who rose to fame playing with Rod Piazza and The Mighty Flyers in the 1980's. One of his current favorite guitars is a Riviera... '63? '64? I forget. Anyway, check him out. http://raphaelwressnig.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/frontcoverwressnigschultz.jpg See if you don'...

Otis Rush

Otis was of course one of the blues legends who inspired so many famous rock/blues players that came later (like Clapton). First a photo of an LP showing Otis with his Riviera: http://eil.com/images/main/Otis+Rush+Mourning+In+The+Morning+534446.jpg One of my all-time favorite tracks from another one...
