Re: Tone of New York pickups?

This is something I am very interested in, too. I have tried about a half-dozen guitars with them. The guitars were mostly hollow-body guitars (so that might also have a lot to do with my experiences). My personal experience is that I couldn't get a useable "rock" tone at all. Not very thi...

someone got a pretty good deal on a '61 Coronet

I had been watching this one until the end :)

It was well under $1,000 until the last minute. I was extremely tempted...

Thanks guys!
I'll keep adding as I find guitars out there. Should be an interesting ongoing project...

Re: Mini-humbucker output values

I'm gonna measure the pickups in my Sheraton and Crestwood - I am definitely curious. So much is known about the full sized humbuckers from this era - the mini humbuckers, I feel like there is so much more to learn about them.

Re: Attempting to account for (some of) the 119 blonde Sheratons (1959-1969)

A couple of others that I would love to account for: 1) J.D. Simo playing a '66-69 blonde (check out the knobs, they are black reflectors, which I believe indicates 1966+) at Carter Vintage Guitars: http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=vQLamIy37dM 2) Greg Koch playing a '64 blonde at Wildwood Guitars (hopef...

Attempting to account for (some of) the 119 blonde Sheratons (1959-1969)

I was curious how many of the 119 original vintage 1959-1969 blonde Sheratons that I could account for, just from poking around on the web. I came up with 10 guitars so far. I'm hoping to update this list as additional guitars are accounted for. If you know of any others, I would love to add them. A...

Some photos of a '64 blonde Sheraton

I found these on the Retro Fret website. It's a '64 blonde Sheraton, serial number 176830 (pretty close to my '64 blonde Sheraton, which is 174696). I just thought it looked beautiful, with the way it has aged, and the play wear. http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j75/AlienVintage/EpiVarious/1BD211ED...
