It's not an Epiphone (or a Gibson)...

So, if you're a big fan of vintage Epiphones but can't afford the ever-rising prices what is the alternative? Gibson's Custom Shop re-issues? Epiphone Elitist models? The "1962" series of re-issues? But what if they don't offer the models you want? This is my solution...

MAKE THEM YOURSELF!

May I present my "1959 Coronet"...

... and "1962 Newport Deluxe".

JM, wow, these are cool! You made these yourself!? Amazing! Would you entertain doing a project for others? My brother has been interested in having a custom bass made. A long scale version of the Newport Deluxe would be of interest. He was considering using reissue or original Epiphone Embassy (Thunderbird) pickups...thanks, RAB

Thanks RAB.
I do make instruments for other people (as long as they're not in a hurry for them! ). The problem with making a bass for your brother is that I'm in the UK, so he'd have to put total trust in my work.

Here are some more of my creations. Please don't tell Mr Hall. ;)
My own 1959 Capri 360.

A 315 for a friend (with medium scale instead of short).

And a Capri 12-string for a friend of his (with much wider neck).

JM, based on the quality of your work I think my brother would feel fine giving you free reign on his long scale Newport bass project. (Have you done any TV yellow or any of the Epiphone Custom color finishes?) If you feel comfortable please let me know your contact info so we can discuss further, thanks! RAB
