You can see from the posted shipping totals just how insanely rare the Emperors are. Total of 9 shipped in 1960, 4 of which were natural finish. This is one of those 4 naturals. You don't see these very often. This video also really shows just how large the bodies on these guitars are:

Great looking fiddle! I wonder how badly it'd feedback? I played another full hollow thinline (1959 Gibson ES-350T) and the feedback was bad even at very low volumes!

Nice. Always a treat to see one of these rare thinline Emps. I've seen them come up for sale a few times over the years. I would have tried one by now... if I was rich. Anyway, closest thing I've seen to this design concept was a custom thinline Super 400 that Gibson built several years ago. Other than that, these things are pretty darn unique. You guys ever play one?

Never played one. Pretty to look at at and insanely rare but I'd be worried about feedback at gig sound-levels...
